Performance Management
The evolution of the concept of performance management in the
modern organisation reflects
a change of emphasis away from
Command-and-Control toward a facilitation model of leadership.
This change has been accompanied by a recognition of the importance
to the employee and the organisation of relating work performance
to the strategic or long-term and overarching mission of
the
organization as a whole. Employees' goals and objectives are
derived from their department's,
which in turn support the mission
and goals
of the Organisation.
Vital Resources has introduced performance management
systems into both private and public sector organisations with
an emphasis in focussing decision making and accountability
at a level where the tasks are carried out.
Critical to the success of any performance management system
is the need to create a performance culture within the organisation
where a supportive leadership culture exists.
